Societies Day 22nd Sept 2006 RHGC

There were 10 societies represented at the event. The weather was kind to those in the morning and very cruel to those in the afternoon. There was a threat at one point where the greens were flooding and putting impossible.

The meal was served at 7:45pm with toasts and short speeches from the captains of each society. The captain was present although the president not so. The toasts over the prizes were announced by the vice captain with the help of the BABS organizer for the year, Andrew Coulles.

Thanks were made to the staff and organizers as well as a collection for Neil Cameron’s’ cancer charity for which he was walking 60km on the weekend. Generous golfers contributed £100 Thanks to all those and I know I pass on Neil’s most heartfelt thanks.

We look forward to next year’s day and the organization will pass alphabetically through the societies making it the turn of the Barrels next year.
